Welcome to Kingfisher House

Our Story

Livingstone is home to Victoria Falls one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A visit to Zambia is never complete without a visit to this culturally rich and beautiful town.

Kingfisher House was built to provide local and international visitors with a home away from home whilst visiting Livingstone.  As a family we were always looking for accommodation options that made travelling with kids and as a group, as easy as possible. The idea for our self-catering family friendly house, was built upon wanting to make travel as fun, easy and comfortable as possible for everyone, regardless of age!

The house has been furnished from start to finish with personal touches that combine African chic with our love of the great outdoors. Kingfisher House was designed by our family friend Josh Ward, the award winning architect behind Victoria Falls Safari Lodge (Zimbabwe) and David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa (Zambia). Josh sadly passed away before the house was finished, but we have stayed true to his love of bright airy spaces and maintaining an inside/outside feeling throughout.

In our pledge to make family travel as easy as possible our house comes equipped with a travel cot, high chair, toys, books, children's cutlery and an outside play area.
